Tea anyone?

Some tea inspired cookies for a Kitchen Tea. Based around a previous design that my friend, Nicole, loved...

Up, up and away...

This birthday cake was for little Paxton, who was turning 1. His mum and dad wanted to celebrate surviving their first year of parenthood with a wonderfully cheerful theme: primary coloured balloons! (For those of you wondering what the primary colours are... they are blue, red and yellow.) Given the theme, I was allowed to come up with the design of the cake.

I love little Paxton's expression as he is floating into the sky!

And of course no theme is complete without matching cookies for party favours...

Balloons are fickle creatures, they pop or float away and often before their owner would want them to (I have suffered through many a balloon induced tantrum!) Unfortunately, I think balloon cookies and cakes would be no different... they are not here for a long time, but definitely a good time.

Happy Birthday Paxton!

Just what the Doctor ordered!

Cookies for Dr Jo from her good friend Dr Julia! She asked for a mixture of my two most recent cookie gift boxes. And here is what I came up with:

I must admit  to stereotyping English people. As both the lovely doctors are English, I took a gamble that Dr Jo likes the odd cup of tea and tried out my tea cup cookie cutter for the first time. Dr Julia has since assured me that Dr Jo is in fact a tea drinker, so the stereotype stays. (Must admit to being impartial to the odd cup of Earl Grey myself.)

The cookies were packaged up in a box like such:

So a jolly good Birthday to you Dr Jo!

You can't stop the music!

Just a quick cookie gift box with a musical theme...

And, in case you were curious, the musical notes are the actual tune to the "Happy Birthday" song. Yes, I am a bit crazy that way...

Happy 50th David!

Original Gift Idea

When it comes to buying a birthday gift for a woman, there is certainly a list of generic gifts you can choose from. Candles, soap, stationary to name just a few. But a gift box of personalised cookies? Not generic at all, and certainly not something you could re-gift!

And to make it even the better, you can tell the recipient that the cookies were purchased with a donation to Tear! Surely now you will be in the running for an award for creative gift giving.

Finally, if you needed any further convincing, they come packaged in a gift box, with ribbon and a home made gift tag. No wrapping required!

So what are you waiting for? Don't waste your time getting lost at the Mall, send Baking for Goats and email and order your cookie gift box today!

Oh, and Happy Birthday Alicia!

To be a princess...

I had the pleasure of recreating my Sleeping Beauty cake for my little friend, Catherine, who was turning 4 in style - with a party at Fairyland! The humid weather did not like my tall behead so it had to be shortened to comply (click here for an image of what it looked like after a night of disgustingly hot weather). Anyway, the final product looked like this:

I was also asked to do some matching cookies for a take-home gift. Nothing says "Princess Party" like a pink crown!

The cookies were packaged up with a handful of Smarties for good measure.

I was also lucky enough to take my daughter, Libby, to the party, and to watch as Fairy Sparkles hacked into the cake. At least I got to eat a piece!

Happy Birthday Catherine!

A Regal Cause...

This week I had the pleasure of teaming up with the Tear Supporters in Orange. They are hosting a movie night tomorrow, playing "The King's Speech". Somehow they had heard of what Baking for Goats was all about and asked if I could make something to go with their event. Of course I said yes!

I came up with these crowns, which will be sold individually in the hopes of raising even more funds for Tear.

Good luck for tomorrow night Orange!

Noo Boo's cookies

My friend, Vanessa (known to most as Vanoosh), is just about to pop. I had the pleasure of attending her baby shower on the weekend and took the opportunity to practice my cookie decorating (as well as try out a few new designs). Maybe this is a good way to get invited to a few more baby showers!

In case you were wondering, Vanoosh refers to her bubs as "Noo Boo", which is a combination of her and her husband, Brad's, nicknames. Here is Noo Boo served up on a platter:

I should point out that I do realise that babies do not hatch from eggs (having given birth to two of my own). I did consider this for a while... at first I thought that it would be great if they hatched from eggs but then I realised that I would still have to lay the egg, and decided that the current technique of reproducing will have to do for now.

Looking forward to meeting you, Noo Boo!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

These cute cookies were made to be given out as presents for Scott and Jessica's classmates. Lucky class I say!

They are sugar cookies with royal icing decoration. I just love their nobbly knees!

They were individually packaged like this:

Merry Christmas Scott and Jessica, and all your friends!

Little angel Zoe

This cake was for little Zoe's dedication. Her mum provided me with a photo of a cake she liked and we changed it around a little to produce this...

And of course, she had to have matching cookie pops for her little friends to take home...

God certainly does love you Zoe!

iCookies

These cookies were an Anniversary present for a friend to give to her husband, who happens to be quite the fan of technology.

The idea was that at first it looks like an iPhone but as you eat the cookies, you discover the "message" underneath.

I was quite excited when I came up with this idea, thinking it was quite clever. Then when I actually tried to implement it I realised that I had maybe overestimated my own abilities just a touch! Oh well, although they're by no means perfect, they are certainly different.

Happy Anniversary Heather and Mark!

Rock on!

These cookies were for 5 year old, Toby's, Rock 'n Roll birthday party...

My kids had the pleasure of rocking out at Toby's party. Libby particularly loved it when we dug out my Mum's crimping iron (which she bought for me when I went to a disco at a young age - ah the 80's). Below is a picture of them ready to rock...

Have a rockin' birthday Toby!

A wedding cake's second life...

This cake was the top tier of my friend, Lisa's, wedding cake. She asked me to spruce it up to use as the cake for her son and daughter's christening, more than 5 years after they were married!

And cookie pops for her daughter's first birthday, which coincided with the Christening.

Happy birthday Lexi!
